Ipsy Glam Bag Favorites from Previous Bags

Past Ipsy Glam Bag Review

As I mentioned in my April Ipsy Glam Bag Review, I have been a subscriber and fan of Ipsy for a long time now. Since I didn’t start reviewing (or have a platform on which to review) the glam bag until now, I’d like to return to my previous bags and review my favorite products. At least the ones I still have (there has been a moisturizer or eyeliner or two that I have since run out of. I am also refraining from reviewing any lip products, as I am doing a large Lip Product Review in the future! Enjoy!

Elizabeth Mott Blending Brush

From March 2017

Elizabeth Mott Blending Brush

First off, I love every single Elizabeth Mott product that I get in my Ipsy Glam Bags, it is just one of those brands that speaks to me! This brush is one of those amazing products! I haven’t been using it super long, but I love it. It does a great job of helping a makeup newbie like me, blend my eyeshadow! I love how soft and thick the brushes are. And the cute baby teal handle is also a plus! Like basically every product on this review, five stars.

Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Blush Brush 514

From February 2017

Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Blush Brush 514

When I got this brush, I was super excited because I needed a new blush brush! This one was adorable and wonderfully soft! However, when I began using it I didn’t like it as a blush brush. I put it aside for a while wanting to use it, but not really sure how. I ran out of my usual Mary Kay Mineral Foundation and bought a drugstore version to hold me over until I could afford a new one. My Mary Kay brush no longer worked for the drugstore mineral powder, so I broke out this brush.

I fell in love with it as a powder brush. It is soft and flexible enough to powder ever-so-lightly. Just the way I like it! This brush works amazing for applying my powder foundation and setting powders! For its original purpose, I am not a huge fan; however, as a powder brush, I give it four stars!

Vasanti Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brushes

From July 2016

Vasanti Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brushes

This is another case of a brush I wasn’t sure I knew how to use, so I added it to my brushes and there it sat…for months! I have been looking for the perfect under eye concealer, and the one that I am currently using doesn’t go on well when I use my fingers. So, I picked up this brush and gave it a shot. It’s a perfect size and does a good job, it’s not perfect (I mean, this isn’t its original purpose). But I love the brush nevertheless. I may eventually replace this brush with one meant to blend concealer, but for now, four stars.

INSPR Eye Fluff Brush

From May 2016

INSPR Eye Fluff Brush

I am absolutely in love with this brush, it is perfect. Five stars before I even explain! This brush is a perfect crease blending eyeshadow brush. I use it whenever I blend a dark color or do some form of a smokey eye. It blends beautifully and allows for perfect color control. Like any brush, keep it clean and it’ll work gorgeously.

Skone Cosmetics Smudger Brush

From January 2016

Skone Cosmetics Smudger Brush

This is an amazing brush to get smudged dark colors on your eyelid (or I suppose wherever else you’d like it). I have also used it on my tear duct and under eye lining. It’s so small that it allows for highly pigmented looks.

Luxie Beauty Tapered Highlighter 522

From 2015

Luxie Beauty Tapered Highlighter 522

I love this brush! I haven’t owned a highlighter until now, but I have used it for bronzing and it does a beautiful job! I am sure that I have been using it incorrectly but still seems to work for me. This brush is soft and clings to the color wonderfully.

Crown Brush Shadow / Crease Duet AC012

From 2015

Crown Brush Shadow / Crease Duet AC012

This was the first brush I received from the Ipsy Glam Bag. Ever since I got it, I have been using it as my main eyeshadow brush. I use the smaller end to apply the color and the larger end to blend. It does an amazing job and I plan to use it until It has nothing left on it!

Eye Shadows and Related

Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment in Desert Sunset #02

From January 2017

Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment in Desert Sunset #02

This is a product I have owned before, just in a different color. I used to wear it allll the time (I love shiny shimmery things). It a loose glittery powder eyeshadow and it goes on beautifully, though you maybe need to brush off your cheeks after. Not only is it generally just a beautiful product, it is such a beautiful neutral color and they shimmer so wonderfully!

INSPR Eye Shadow in Carnival

From 2015

INSPR Eye Shadow in Carnival

As you might be able to see from this picture, I broke the container this shadow is stored it. I dropped it and lost a ton of the shadow itself as well. Despite its taped-up imperfections, I love this shadow. It lasts all day and is a nice nude shimmery shade. This is my go-to day-to-day shadow. Love it.

NYX Color Shadow Palette in IPSYNYX01

From 2015

NYX Color Shadow Palette in IPSYNYX01

I love this palette because of the shimmery neutral pink and the shimmery brown. I don’t use the black color very often, and if I do it is as a liner. This is the perfect smokey palette for me. I wear it whenever I am going out or dressing up! It’s is nicely pigmented and lasts all day long. Great shadow!

Eyeliner and Mascara

EYEKO Skinny Liquid Eyeliner Deluxe in Black

From November 2016

EYEKO Skinny Liquid Eyeliner Deluxe in Black

To be quite honest, I haven’t found a formula of liquid eyeliner that I don’t love. Everyone that I have ever tried lasts all day with little smudging and is as black as I hoped it would be. So, let’s just assume both eyeliners that I am reviewing have those qualities. I love the size and applicator of this eyeliner the most. It’s a perfect travel size and applies nicely!

*****

The Balm Cosmetics Mad Lash Mascara

From November 2016

The Balm Cosmetics Mad Lash Mascara

The applicator on this mascara is my favorite part of it. I have short, blonde eyelashes, so a mascara that lengthens my lashes is hard to find. This mascara has a curved applicator and long bristles which help to lengthen my short lashes! It also doesn’t leave chunky lashes, which I appreciate.

*****

Ciate London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner

From October 2016

Ciate London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner

What an awesome eyeliner! Not only is it super black, but the tip is perfect and makes it easy to put on! I’ve always been super impressed with liquid eyeliner that has a similar tip, but this is, by far, my go-to liner! Lasts all day with no smudging!

*****

Makeup For Ever Excessive Lash

From July 2016

Makeup For Ever Excessive Lash

I like to use this mascara as a de-clumper. The mascara itself doesn’t necessarily give me the length I want, but when it’s used after another mascara that does, it combs through giving me the perfect lashes! This mascara is also perfect if I am not looking for length, just beauty. Because there is less clumping the mascara lasts longer than other mascaras that I love. Plus, the packaging is super sleek and attractive!

****

Smashbox Cosmetics X-Rated Mascara

From May 2016

Smashbox Cosmetics X-Rated Mascara

This is my go-to mascara for sure! It’s nearly dried up and I am so sad! The seemingly sporadic bristles give my lashes amazing length (at least for short lashes like mine). They leave my lashes a little clumpy now, but it’s over a year old. Any mascara would be clumpy a year old. When it was new it was smooth and perfect and everything I could ask for in a mascara! It lasts all day with little crumbling and is as black as can be! My favorite mascara yet!

Contour and Face

Elizabeth Mott Whatup Beaches Matte Bronzer

From February 2017

Elizabeth Mott Whatup Beaches Matte Bronzer

As I’ve mentioned, I’m a huge Elizabeth Mott fan. If anyone knows where I can get an empty palette to fit her samples, I’d be eternally grateful! Anyways, I love this bronzer. My only reservation is the size. Obviously, it’s a sample, so it’s going to be smaller than normal. But with how small it is, it is difficult to get any on my brush.

Despite the difficulty, I still manage to use and love the product! It’s the perfect color for my skin tone without coming on too strong. It layers nicely and as far as I can tell, lasts most of the day. Great bronzer for pale skin.

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Paradise Blush

from January 2017

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Paradise Blush

I really like this blush both for the formula, color, and size of the compact. It’s small, so it’s perfect for travel. In addition to being a nice small compact, it’s a beautiful pink / red color with plenty of pigmentation. I don’t wear this one every day, but it is one of my frequent flyers!

*****

The Balm Cosmetics Bahama Mama Bronzer

From January 2017

The Balm Cosmetics Bahama Mama Bronzer

I really like this bronzer, but I wish it was bigger so that I could properly get it on the brush. However, it is still beautiful and looks great on my skin. It’s a sample so it’s small. It is like a small book, it closes magnetically and features very pretty artwork.

As far as last, I believe it lasts all day unless you are constantly wiping your face (like most products). The shade is a darker sandy brown color with very little shimmer. Personally, I prefer more shimmer, but I am not upset. Overall, this is a great product!

The Balm Cosmetics Hot Mama Blush

From October 2016

The Balm Cosmetics Hot Mama Blush

My favorite part of this blush is the pigmentation. It’s beautiful! If I allow myself to get too carried away when getting it on the brush, I end up with a blush that’s too dark! I love it. You can’t really see it in the photo, but it’s about halfway gone! I love the Balm products, and this one surely didn’t disappoint.

Not only is the pigmentation perfect, the color is a beautiful golden pink/red shade with shimmer. The Balm’s packaging is also a plus. Like I said above, the packaging is also amazing! Can’t say that I have anything negative to say about this product!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess

From 2015

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess

This is the first bronzer I have ever owned. It’s not super pigmented, but that is perfect for me! I also love that it is slightly shimmery and makes me feel like I am glowing! The packaging claims waterproof, but I don’t pay close enough attention to know how it holds up in water. Quite frankly, I don’t know that I’ve worn it and then gone in the water! The color is beautiful, allows for layering, and the product size makes it easy to apply!

*****

Tarte Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder in Smooth Operator

From 2015

Tarte Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder in Smooth Operator

I had never owned a finishing powder or anything like it before this. So, of course, I gave it a try. Little did I know I would love it! This is a small container and I don’t have the funding to buy this product, so I use it sparingly. However, when I use oilier products on my eyes I use this on top before applying mascara. It soaks up the oils and helps it to last all day long! Love this brand, and Love this product!

Facial Moisturizers

Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum

From November 2016

Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum

I have oily skin, so I generally hate moisturizers, especially facial moisturizers. I always feel greasy and gross after using them, or I end up breaking out in zits and blemishes! This moisturizer is different though, I haven’t experienced a single outbreak from using this product and it leaves my skin feeling soft! I use It nearly every night and I am so sad to be running out! Five stars for sure!

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) 5-in-1 Styling Treatment

From September 2016

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) 5-in-1 Styling Treatment

I get a lot of leave-in conditioners and hair treatments in my Ipsy Bags. This one has blown every single one out of the water. It leaves my hair so soft, yet light! I have oily skin and hair, so, too often these types of products leave my hair stringy, greasy, heavy, or oddly enough, frizzy. This product does exactly what I want it to.

Nail Polishes

Ciate London Genealogy Top Coat Vernis Top Coat

From January 2017

Ciate London Genealogy Top Coat Vernis Top Coat

I have a really hard time getting nail polish to stick to my nails, even clear coats, and primers. However, this one stays on!! I was so excited to find out that this one stays on. My favorite color of nail polish is clear. I was blessed with naturally healthy and strong nails and so I don’t feel the need to wear color all that option. I almost have a natural French tip, so a clear coat works perfectly. The fact that this one lasts, is amazing!

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in No Filter

From July 2016

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in No Filter

Summer of 2016, this nail color was my signature color. It was the only nail polish I wore! I love love love it! But, like I said before, I struggle with nail polishes. This one lasted but barely 24 hours. I think this summer I will try wearing the Ciate London Top Coat over it! Because it barely lasted 24 hours, I will give it four stars.

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in I’m Kind of a Big Deal

From February 2016

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in I’m Kind of a Big Deal

This color of Trust Fund Nail Polish stays the same as No Filter does. The pink color is so beautiful. I have pink-toned pale skin, so pinks have always looked nice on me. I love this shade of pink because it is a bright yet mature shade. Sometimes with pinks, I feel as though it is too bright and I feel like a child. But this shade is just right!

Precision Beauty Tweezers

From 2015

Precision Beauty Tweezers

I absolutely love these tweezers! They are so great for plucking! So amazing, in fact, that I tossed my old ones… or maybe I gave them away. Either way, I love them. They grab onto small hairs with ease and actually hold that grasp! Exactly what tweezers need!
